This chapter will discuss about conclusion that got through research and finding in this study. This chapter also will discuss and providing several recommendations which are objectively in order to make this thing better and trying to improve the effectiveness. In chapter is important for other people especially students to understand why the Computer Aided Design (CAM) is very versatile and widely used in industrial especially in designing and fabrication product. Recommendation also included in this chapter in order to know what suggestion and idea that we can throw out and sharing with others so that this study will look much interesting and for the real situation helping the related person or company lot of beneficent.
5.1 CONCLUSION
Based on our study that has been made, according to the research question what are the advantages of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) most of University Malaysia Pahang’s students know advantages of this software is about term of designing and precision. This might be due to their have already learn and attend any class regarding to this software and also even student have done use it before and apply it because the respondent consist first year and second year student from faculty of manufacturing engineering. Then for second research question which is how much do University Malaysia Pahang manufacturing students apply Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) in creating products the finding is a the there has a number of students who actually know how to design in that software but they didn’t know or master in translating and machining the design at Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine and they will apply this thing when entering CAM classes or after being given task by lecturer or instructor to use on that. This matter might be because the students haven’t earlier exposed about this or less of facility such as the machine and software limitations such as we know this software wasn’t cheap and not available in all places.
5.2 RECOMMENDATION
Several recommendations has been made in order to make University Malaysia Pahang manufacturing students clearly know about the advantages of this software and make them ready and able to use this software entirely start from draft sketching, designing and machining until the real product is produce. The first recommendation is a construct a CAM competition for all students who are interested at all and offering the good gift for the winner and with these students directly trying to improve their skills and ability to compete. At meantime this competition should be held every semester in order to make sure the student’s skills in shape and their idea will continue come. Beside that other recommendation is a with CAM exhibition as well because with this method the students especially from other course not especially manufacturing student will get the benefit because their can adding their knowledge about engineering technology and information parallel to the university intention which is to make sure students knowing as much as can about engineering knowledge. At the same time this thing also will encourage manufacturing student involve seriously because as we know the exhibition always interesting and other people will attend to have a look it. Then the last one is with increase the credit hour for this subject into 4 credit hour where as we know exist credit hour is 3 credit hour. With that separate CAM subject into CAM1 and CAM2 which will be took or offer to students by faculty at different semester. In this way students will able to gained the lot of skill and accept knowledge about that consistency and they will familiar with that because to master in designing and machining it require good skill which is gained from experience and problem situation that has face.
